
This is the new blog for my company PUCCINI films. It’s also a brave step for me to express some personal expressions mixed right in. I’ve waffled for years, despite so many of you who have encouraged me to write a blog. Though I am contracted regularly to assist entities and individuals in their own marketing (specializing in all uses of quality video), I don’t usually market myself in any way or tend to do activities that anyone would deem as “marketing.”

Apple not only announced a new MacBook Air laptop, iLife 11 and Facetime for Mac computers, but previewed the upcoming latest computer OS, Lion (due out in summer, 2011, although betas may be available much sooner for the brave at heart). Mac computer users will now be able to enjoy more apps that iPhone and iPad users love so much, now full screen, with new OS features, such as Launchpad and Mission Control. That’s huge news, and also makes the upgraded MacBook Air a more interesting new product with its very wide, glass touch pad that can be manipulated like an iPhone/iPad (multitouch). Presumably, there will be plugin touch pads (such as a Magic TrackPad upgrade) for other Macs as Steve Jobs has made it clear not to expect a touch-screen Mac computer – multitouch is best done horizontally. ...read more...

Admittedly, the most stressful task that I sometimes get hired for is to consult for individuals or companies on new camera purchases. Nowadays, there are hundreds to choose from and additionally, the price to performance technology is advancing so rapidly that a “Holy Grail” camcorder can be a dinosaur in six months.

Released this weekend, it’s a modern day cold war spy thriller from Noyce (DP: Elswit), with Jolie/Shreiber. Sounds good to me. Now, how many of you can watch only half of this, then stop it before the trailer gives away too much? After you see Angelina Jolie begin to run like hell (one minute in – half way through), can you stop watching? I bet most of you won’t. I made the mistake of watching it all. Grrrrr.
Most trailers these days are not created with finesse, in my opinion. Once millions have been spent, the marketing departments of studios forge ahead with glee, revealing as many salient plot points, moments of incredible action, and giving away the whole damn story!
